Project SEARCH
-
Project SEARCH is a one-year school-to-work program that takes place entirely at CHI Health St. Francis. Project SEARCH serves students with disabilities who are in the last year of their educational program. Students must be on an Individual Education Plan and have a desire to achieve competitive employment in the community. Project SEARCH interns complete job rotations throughout the year to gain a variety of job experiences. The program partners with many organizations and employers in town, including Grand Island Public Schools, Vocational Rehab, and CHI Health St. Francis hospital.
Project SEARCH began in 1996 at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Project SEARCH has grown from one original program to over one hundred fifty across forty-two states and four countries.
