Our main goals are to help students stay in school, graduate from high school and be successful life long learners. Between 2003 and 2010, the alternative program grew, as well as the number of students needing an alternative learning environment. Due to that growth, the district built a new building that opened in 2011. The Success Academy has continued to grow and is now located at the Islander Annex building at 3025 College Street in Grand Island.
There will always be students who do not fit into a traditional high school environment because of a variety of reasons and risk factors. Research indicates that those students who are motivated to obtain their high school diploma, are more likely to be successful in an alternative setting when they were not successful in a traditional high school program.
Success Academy offers innovative, non-traditional approaches for 6-12 learners to achieve academic and lifelong success.
