The Office of Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement activates high impact, mutually beneficial partnerships to ensure success for every student and family. The department is in place to assure the community - both the Grand Island Public Schools community and the broader community of Grand Island - knows our students, encourages our students, and celebrates their successes. Part of the GIPS Strategic Plan outlines the importance of partnering with the community, specifically to support students in and out of school hours.
Within the Strategic Plan, mentors and programs to engage students with parents and their community are vital. The CommUNITY School at Lincoln Elementary, the Statewide Family Engagement Center, TeamMates, and Success Mentors are just some of the programs in place to promote student engagement. The Strategic Plan also focuses on the need for partnerships and the value of those partners. As a department, we recruit, support, and recognize community partners who serve our students as they work with our elementary and middle schools.
To maximise the success of the Strategic Plan, it is crucial to reach our audiences through a robust communication plan. Our students and staff, parents and partners depend on the Marketing and Communications department to share opportunities, stories, and highlights from around the district and beyond.
