    • English Language Learners

      • The English Language Learners program in Grand Island Public Schools helps students of all age and grade levels learn English. Students go through a process of identification of Limited English Proficient (LEP) upon entering the district, beginning with the Home Language Survey.

      • FEV is designed to help deepen her/his understanding of grade level standards as well as receive on-demand homework help. If you would like to learn more about FEV Tutor, watch this brief video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-NPkZkQqi8

    • Cougar Garden Club

      • We love our garden club! They plant flowers and plants in the front garden and grow vegetables in the garden beds.

    • Ukes and More Club

      • 4th & 5th graders have the opportunity to join the Ukes N' More club. This club will explore multiple instruments and have the opportunity to perform at a Tri City Storm game.

    • Running Club

      • Running Club is for students grades 4 and 5, along with interested parents and staff members.  The purpose of the Running Club is to build the healthy habit of running, encourage perseverance and commitment, and to learn to use running as a stress management tool.

    • House Teams

      • We are so excited to be continuing the House System, inspired by The Ron Clark Academy, to our entire school! Houses earn points for positive behaviors (respectful, responsible, & safe). Each house is a team that works together to collect points. At the end of the year, the winning team earns the house cup. Every month, house teams meet to do relationship-building activities, social emotional learning, community projects, and fun competitions.

    • Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program

      • The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is designed to help create healthier school environments and combat childhood obesity.  The FFVP expands the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience, increases their fruit and vegetable consumption, and can positively impact their present and future health.

    • Food for Thought

      • The mission at Food For Thought Outreach is to bridge the meal gap in the lives of food insecure children and empower them to get the most out of their education. We know that students coming to school after missing multiple meals do not learn or develop at the same rate as their peers and the goal at FFT is to provide year-round services to take students from K-12 without the fear, stress and illness related to childhood hunger.

    • Red Ribbon Week

      • Red Ribbon week serves as a vehicle for communities, schools, and individuals to take a stand for the hopes and dreams of our children through a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug-free lives, with the ultimate goal being the creation of a drug-free America.
