CHARACTER COUNCILCharacter Council is a group of 1st-5th grade students who model exemplary character traits throughout their classroom, school and community. They participate in monthly meetings and activities throughout our school and community.
GIRLS ON THE RUN
Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
READING TOGETHER
Reading Together is a tutoring program held at Gates from November through March. 4th and 5th grade students meet weekly with 1st graders to use a curriculum that helps gain reading comprehension and fluency.
KIDS FOR SAVING THE EARTH CLUBKids for Saving the Earth Club is an environmental after school club that meets during the fall and spring. Students participate in trash pickup, recycling and beautification projects on school grounds and throughout our community.
MINECRAFT CLUB
Minecraft Club is an after school club that meets in the computer lab. Students use their reasoning and problem solving skills to build and create in their online world. A grant was obtained to purchase 26 licenses to offer this club.
