The new Grand Island Public Schools website (gips.org) will be going live on Sept. 15!

We’re here to serve the community through education and we are grateful for the opportunity to provide high-quality, trusted resources to aid in those efforts. 

Here’s what we’ve done

There will be many changes in terms of how the website looks, but the same important information will be available.

Here are three featured changes to look forward to with the new website:

• Global icons: On each page, there will be clickable icons that will help visitors get information quickly. The global icons will be linked to the most frequently visited items, including: bus routes, staff directory, lunch menus, and more.
  
  

• Branded school sites: Each school website will be branded with their unique logo and school colors! The district is excited about this because it provides more personalization to each website, while showing school and district pride.
  
  

• Multimedia galleries and slideshows: The homepage of the school websites and district website will have the capability to display more photo slideshows and videos. This will enhance the school spirit, while personalizing each school site.

Q: Where are the lunch menus and Nutrition Services information?

A: Nutrition Services information is included as a global icon, and under “Departments” in the “Nutrition Services” tab.

Q: Where are the calendars located?

A: The Google calendars for each school, and the district, can be found on the homepages. Calendars are also included as a global icon on each page. Printable calendars are available on the district calendar global icon (on the homepage). 

Q: What if I see broken links on the new website?

A:  The new website is complete, but parts are still being updated. Please reach out to GIPS Communications at communications@gips.org.

Q: Will the staff directory include photos?

A: The staff directory will be updated soon, as this year’s school photos are available.
